Recognizing the Signs of Dyslexia

12/5/2013

I'm sharing an article on the signs of dyslexia in school age children.
To summarize, dyslexia is a learning disorder that affects reading. It does not mean, by any stretch, that a child is not intelligent.

Here are some key signs that a student is struggling with dyslexia:
  • speech delay
  • difficulty with rhyming
  • difficulty with sequencing
  • difficulty following instructions in order
  • slow processing of information presented verbally or in writing
  • requiring additional time to complete class work
  • seeing or writing letters in reverse

My most recent blog with Smart Mom Solutions and Blue Suit Mom is all about managing your children with a little bit of humor!  Despite how insane it can get in my house, I found a new strategy of making jokes, using funny voices and plain old laughing to get me through a moment that could potentially turn into an ugly situation!

Read on and share your 'funny' moments with me! http://www.smartmomsolutions.com/2013/12/04/thats-so-funny/
