Sustained attention is something that we learn to do as we get older. For children with ADHD, sustained attention is especially difficult. But, maybe we, as parents, and teachers shouldn’t expect an eager student, with hands crossed on his desk, looking at the teacher and maintaining great focus! That’s something I expect to see on an episode of “Leave it to Beaver” but not in my real life!
