Provider Spotlight: Michelle Demarest, Morris Speech Therapy

Ms. Demarest is a NJ licensed Speech Language Pathologist who is board certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence. She also is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) and provides cognitive remediation therapy in a variety of settings. She is trained at the second level in the use of PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Motor Targets), TalkTools™ Oral Motor Placement Therapy, and Orofacial Myology. She volunteers on the NJ Craniofacial Team. She has been named a NJ Favorite Kids Doc.

Morris Speech Therapy was established over a decade ago by Michele Demarest, MS CCC-SLP, who embarked on a journey dedicated to transforming lives through speech therapy.

Michele ensures that therapy provided by herself and her staff is effective, positive, and impactful for clients.

Helping Children Speak

Let us help your child speak clearly and communicate well. We use a physiological approach to training clear speech and provide fun and functional reasons for children of all ages and diagnoses to communicate.

Tongue Thrust/Tie & Myofunctional Therapy

We assess and treat oral motor dysfunction including tongue thrust (swallowing pattern) and tongue, lip and cheek ties (restrictive tethering of oral tissues) that can impact speech, feeding/swallowing and facial development. Both children and adults benefit from myofunctional therapy.

LSVT and Speak Out! Therapy for Parkinson’s

Voice and swallowing therapies for Parkinson’s have been shown to be positive and evidence-based, and can improve function significantly. We are dedicated to supporting you using evidence-based practices.
