Ita Golus is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey and New York with over 19 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families in schools, foster care, nursing homes, telehealth, and community settings. As a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist, she also supports individuals and families navigating grief, loss, and major life transitions. Ita provides structured, evidence-based therapy grounded in a client- and family-centered approach, integrating CBT, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and supportive therapy to help clients build coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and navigate life transitions with resilience.
Ita works with children, teens, adults, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, parenting challenges, and school-related concerns. She provides parent coaching to bring therapeutic strategies into the home. With experience in schools and foster care, she supports children and adolescents through individual, group, and family counseling and partners with families navigating IEPs and 504 Plans to help children receive the support they need to succeed. Ita has led skills-based groups and parent workshops, collaborated with interdisciplinary teams, and helped students develop study and organizational skills.
Outside of therapy, Ita enjoys spending time with her family and their dog, creative projects like crocheting, needlepoint, and making friendship bracelets, reading, and connecting with friends.
