We are excited to share the following article about our practice posted in NJ Family magazine.
At Psychological and Educational Consulting, Dr. Liz Matheis, Nicole Filiberti, Michelle Molle-Krowiak, Rachael Berringer and their team provide therapeutic, consultative and psycho-educational assessments in a warm, inviting practice. The highly trained therapists create personal connections and provide individualized services as they help families struggling emotionally, socially, academically or behaviorally. The office is equipped with games and prizes for kids to help keep treatment fun and stress-free. “We work very hard to establish a rapport with our families and earn their trust,” says Dr. Matheis, practice founder and mom of three. A school psychologist, Dr. Matheis is adept at navigating the educational system and has vast experience working with children with special needs including anxiety, learning disabilities, ADHD and depression. The practice offers an array of services, from play therapy to executive functioning coaching, as well as testing for students. “Treatment with us is truly a family affair,” she says.

What inspired you to start your practice?
My private practice started as a part-time gig, and it began to pick up without any real marketing efforts. When I was pregnant with my third child, I realized that work life balance was about to become impossible. That’s when I pursued full-time private practice—July 2022 is my 10-year anniversary!
How has your business evolved?
I had a desk and a couch in my dining room. I wanted flexibility to be in my children’s lives so I hired a therapist to take over the evening appointments and rented an office space. I expanded from one to six therapists and an office manager!
